Facebook Page for Business - Log into Facebook
If you do not have a personal profile set up on Facebook, do that first at www.facebook.com. Even if you don't want a personal profile, it is highly recommend that you create one. Having both, allows for more flexibility.
Once you log into your personal account, then create your Business Page. Your Business Page will be "tied" to your personal profile, but they are completely separate. No one can see your personal information from your Business Page. No one can even see the name of the administrator of the Page.
#2 - Create Your Business Page
Go to www.facebook.com/pages/create.php. Take a look at the main categories of the Pages and decide which one fits your business. "Company, Organization or Institution" is probably the one to choose.
Choose Your Category from the Drop-down Menu and Name Your Page. The name of your Page will be whatever you put into the box just under the Category menu. Spend some time thinking about your Page name carefully. If you have a clear brand name, then the choice is easy. If you are just starting out, you may not have that nailed down yet. Having keywords in your Page title can be a good idea because the keywords help your Page to come up in Facebook search. You have a limit of 70 characters for your Page name.
#3 - Click "Get Started" and follow the four easy steps
The About Page has several large sections. The About Page is indexed in Google, so you will want to make sure it is very descriptive and keyword-rich.
The basic About information that they ask you to enter initially is the field that will appear directly on your timeline just under your cover photo. You only have 155 characters that will show in this field (you can actually write more, but only 155 characters show up in the field, so limit your blurb to that size).
Be sure to link to your website in this field, so people can easily find your website since this field is so prominent. You want to add your website address into the website field as shown in the image. You can also add other websites that you want to direct people to such as Twitter or other social sites by clicking on the Add Another Site link.
2. Profile Picture
The profile picture is the image that appears next to every post that goes into the news feed from your Page. The ideal size for a profile photo is 180 pixels by 180 pixels, but it can be larger with different dimensions. You will be able to adjust the viewable portion of the profile picture by mousing over the photo and clicking Edit Profile Picture and then Edit Thumbnail.
3. Add to Favorites

You can advertise on Facebook if you like, but the more important thing is you created a Facebook Page for your Business. If you click skip, you will be immediately brought to your new Facebook Business Page.

#5 – Facebook Help Center can nswer and all Your Questions
#6 - Now it is time to add your Facebook Business Link to your Microsite
Go to your Facebook business page and copy the URL address at the top of the page and paste it into your Facebook Link field in your back office interface under My Account/Profile/Contact.
This will activate the Facebook icon located at the bottom of the page of your Microsite
4. Google my Business Listing
Looking for a fast way to show up high in relevant Google searches? Want to bring some local traffic to your website? Make sure your agency is listed properly in Google Local.
Google shows regional results at the top of their results pages. Because the search results are limited to a specific location, most of the competition you normally come across trying to rank in search engine results are automatically wiped out.
Here’s an example of what shows up when I search for “health insurance agent seattle”:
You can see that local results show up at the very top on a map.
Make sure you’re added to Google Local and that the information they have is correct. To claim your Google Local business listing, do the following steps:
1. Sign into the Google Local Business Center. If you don’t have a Google Account, you’ll need to create one.
2. Click on “Add a New Business”
3. Fill out the form for your agency. Be sure to include your website and a description with keywords that people will use to search for you.
4. After you click “Next”, Google will see if it already has you in its database. If it does, click on “Claim Listing” next to the right listing. Otherwise, click on “Add Listing”.
5. You can now put in more details. Make sure you include a category (“health insurance”, etc.), a picture or logo, links to any videos you have on YouTube, and list the types of insurance you sell in additional details.
6. Finally, Google will validate the information by either calling you or sending you a postcard.
7. Click on “Finish” and you’re done!
Once your listing goes live, you’ll want to get some reviews. Positive reviews will help people that find you on Google Local know that you’re the right person to call. Make it a habit to follow up with happy customers and ask them to post a positive review.
